Control and supervision
Surveillance and wireless reporting to a central database system or an operation central provides a wide variety of possibilites for different applications. Bitstreams hardware interface is capable of handling a number of different inputs and outputs, both analog and digital, and there are ready interfaces in place for measuring temperature and pressure etc.
Application examples:

• Sites where it is of interest to continously measure for example the temperature, to supervise the function of fans, to notify if levels in containers exceeds or falls below predefined limits etc. Bitstreams wireless equipment can report operation status periodically or on request, and also generate alarms if a serious event occurs.
• Applications where an unexpected breakdown means nonpayment or bad-will, e.g. unattended car washes or petrol stations.
• Vending machines that spontaneously reports when they need refilling, or when there is a failure in the machine. Avoid unnecessary service or refilling visits. Instead let the service personal go there only when it is needed.

And as well as it is possible to report operation status, it is also possible to control the machine through Bitstreams wireless link. Bitstreams hardware interface may even automatically handle different events, e.g. besides sending an alarm about too high temperature, a spare fan may automatically be activated.

Alarms
Whenever a predefined event occurs, an alarm is immediately sent via the wireless system. The alarm may be configured to be handled in an operation central or similar, but it may also be automatically and immediately distributed by SMS to a cellular phone, e.g. to the service technician on duty.

Locks and entrance permissions
The cellular phone is used for opening doors and cabinets etc. All the handling of physical keys is eliminated, as well as the problems with distribution of keys to authorized personnel, collecting keys from no longer authorized personnel, lost keys (which may cause costly changing of locks) etc.
The authorization permissions are configured centrally, immediately and at low cost, thanks to the wireless connection. And all permissions may be changed instantly, no matter where in Europe the locks are located.
